For oil paint No. 004 Purpose: Temporary protection for oil paintings, refreshes discoloured (matt) parts Characteristics: Used as temporary protection on finger-dry oil paintings and/or as temporary varnish for refreshing discoloured (matt) parts; applied in thin layers (e.g. Dries in a few hours and does not yellow This varnish does not affect the drying time of the picture when applied in thin layers Can be removed with mild solvents Can be diluted with mineral turpentine NB: It is important to apply the varnish in as small quantities as possible if the picture is not completely dry. Any excess solvent in the varnish will affect the colour and destroy the film of the picture.
