In this workshop, we will work on creating a personal expression from the composition of photographs. It can be digital, physical, or both. We can work with both our own photographs and "found" photographs.
We will also try incorporating physical materials such as acrylic paint, drawing and various objects and e.g. text.

There will be a brief introduction to the art history of photo collage, as well as an introduction to different approaches and the focus is on experimenting and trying out different possibilities and techniques in relation to how photographs can influence and "open" for each other and the personal expression in the photo collage.

For those interested, there will be an introduction to the use of simple mobile apps and how we can use these creatively in the photo collage.

Bring your own camera, phone or laptop if possible.

About the teacher

Nikolaj Callesen has a degree in anthropology and art photography from Glasgow School of Art. He is an active visual artist, lyricist and musician. His interests include photography and art history and how it can be actualized in relation to the times we live in.

The course takes place over 2 Mondays from 17:00 - 20:00.
