Asian ink painting - Landscapes 7 December
Saturday, December 7, 2024, withax 12 participants - from 10-15 am, Ex Libris, Lille Kirkestræde 3, 1072 Copenhagen K, by Linh Nguyen
Asian Ink Painting - Landscapes : The Asian painting technique, which has been used in many Asian countries such as Vietnam, China, Japan and Korea, is very fascinating. The technique can be learned and enjoyed by participants of all levels with good guidance. It is primarily done with black ink on very thin paper ('rice paper') and special brushes are used. In ancient times, monks used the technique, which can be experienced as relaxing and de-stressing, as a kind of meditation.
Course content: Participants will be introduced to the exciting Asian painting technique, working primarily with landscapes. No previous knowledge is required; the individual's level can be adapted.
Materials: As soon as there are min. 6 registrations, students will be contacted by teacher Linh to purchase Chinese brushes (in two sizes). Ink and 'rice paper' can be purchased from the teacher during the course. You should also bring a glass jar for water, two small bowls approx. 5 cm in diameter for ink, and paper towels.
Catering: There is free coffee and tea for the students - bring a packed lunch for the lunch break, otherwise 7/11 is close.
About the teacher: Linh Nguyen came to Denmark in 1975 from Vietnam and has Danish citizenship. She has been painting for more than 15 years, primarily in Asian painting techniques, watercolor and acrylic. She has exhibited at A.P.Møller-Mærsks Kunstforening and taught at FOF, Kulturhus, Biblioteket. Among other things, she received the following feedback:
"Linh is a very skilled and inspiring teacher who fully understands how to focus on the individual's needs and she is able to meet people at the level they are at. With a quiet sincerity, she knows how to create a safe atmosphere where all creativity can be expressed."
