Sennelier Oil Stick

Sennelier Oil Stick is oil paint in solid form. Some of the oil paint has been replaced with a neutral mineral wax, which allows it to be shaped like a "stick".

The oil paints are of high quality and have a high concentration of pigments that make them non-fading when exposed to daylight, and on binders that yellow minimally over time. The colours can be applied directly to surfaces that support oil paint, i.e. oil or universal primed canvas. Certain papers, specially manufactured for oil painting, can also be used.

Oil paints like this should preferably be applied in thin layers of about 1mm. The layers can be built up gradually in the same way as oil paints from tubes, and can be thinned with oil paint if necessary. Before using Sennelier Oil Sticks, remove the surface film. This "film" will restore itself after a few days of unuse. The applied paint dries in 2-5 days depending on the thickness of the layers, the temperature of the room and the humidity. The range also includes a transparent medium used to create transparency and a shiny effect. Artist quality oil paints are available in opaque(opaque) or transparent colours, depending on the pigment in each colour. Oil Sticks can be stored for an unlimited time, without special considerations, however they should not be stored too warm as this can damage the product. Once the paint is dry, the image can be treated with varnish to oil. Drying time is at least 6 months. There are 55 colours in the series. Contains 38 ml.
