An airbrush kit is perfect for the beginner

If you're completely new to the world of airbrushing, there are many new things and terms to get to grips with. It can be an advantage to get an airbrush starter kit with everything you need to get started. At Stelling, we offer an airbrush kit with a compressor, gun, paint and everything else you might need. As you become more experienced, you can always expand your collection of equipment - with an airbrush kit you can get started quickly and get the technique under your skin.

Choose the right gun for airbrushing

The gun is the part of an airbrush that you hold in your hand and do the actual work with. There are different airbrush guns have different features that may make you prefer one over the other. One of the big differences is whether you choose a single- or double-action gun. If you choose a single-action gun, you will always get the same amount of paint through the needle when you pull the trigger. A double-action gun lets you control both the air pressure and the amount of paint, giving you more control over your work. However, it's also a bit more advanced to work with double-action. In addition, there are differences in the size of the nozzles included for different models, as well as the size of the paint cup.

A gun needs to be combined with an airbrush compressor that can provide the air pressure itself. You can choose an airbrush compressor with or without an air tank.

An airbrush requires the right kind of paint

Airbrush paint is characterized by being thin-flowing and works on a wide variety of surfaces. In addition, the paint is available with a range of beautiful effects such as metallic, pearl and shine. The colors are clear and lightfast, dry with a matte satin sheen and are also water-resistant when completely dry.
